MOVIE MARATHON 1

***Ray***

--This biographical drama tells of the extraordinary life of Ray Charles. As a young boy at age seven, he becomes blind, but even more disturbing is the fact that he is crippled years later as an adult from the wiles of the world of sex and drugs. He is redeemed at the end though, as he pushes himself physically, psychologically and spiritually to find true peace. :) I think this is a great movie to examine the pitfalls of drug abuse. Overall, it was excellent in terms of the acting and directing. There were moments where I felt as though I was looking at Ray Charles and not Jamie Foxx as Ray Charles!

***Hitch***

--IMPRESSIVE how a play of sexual politics was imbibed in this film. people say it's the perfect date movie. i think it's sweet, warmhearted and romantically down-to-earth. of course it has its share of witty lines, but what charmed me most is this: "Life is not about the number of breaths you take but the moments that take your breath away..." kinda sweeps you off your feet, huh? :)

***Sideways***

--i think all that talk about wine left me intoxicated...i practically slept through the movie! :) i think it makes for an award-winning dramedy..but the poignancy is probably just too much for me!

***Constantine***

--i was partly annoyed by Tilda Swinton..most likely because of her annoying role. but overall, i think this movie's a great eye-opener to the truth that Satan exists. it's a theological thriller that comes close to telling the truth, quite a tease for those who are curious or just plain confused.. :)
